In accordance with the rigorous training standards of the former Soviet Union, the courses are structured as follows:

1st year

Classical technique, floor barre, historical dance, practice, pointe work, Pilates*

2nd Year

Classical technique, floor barre, historical dance, practice, pointe work, Pilates*

3rd Year

Classical technique, floor barre, historical dance, practice, pointe work, Pilates*

4th year

Classical technique, pointe, repertoire, contemporary dance, Pilates*

5th year

Classical technique, pointe work, repertoire, character dance, contemporary dance

6th Year

Classical technique, pointe work, repertoire, pas de deux, contemporary dance, character dance

7th Year

Each course is led by an instructor for the core subjects (classical technique, repertoire, pointe work), supported by other instructors for supplementary disciplines (character dance, contemporary dance, etc.).

Throughout the year, the Academy invites internationally renowned instructors and teachers from major theaters across Europe and the world; they work with students from various year groups for short periods as guest teachers, making a significant technical and educational contribution through their teaching and professional experience.

Furthermore, the activities of Accademia Ucraina di Balletto are closely linked to theatrical performance, as its ultimate goal is to train professional dancers. During repertoire and practice sessions, students work on choreography—both from the standard repertoire and original works—which may subsequently be included in the program for performances and competitions, at the discretion of the teachers and the administration.
The Academy focuses particularly on repertoire work, and this has enabled some students to gain professional work experience prior to graduation.
Each year, Andrei Sharaev, director of the Saint-Petersburg Classical Ballet of Andrei Batalov, selects a few recent graduates to join the company’s tours, thereby providing Academy students with their first professional work experiences.
