Lunella Cherchi was born in Milan in 1989. After graduating from DanceHaus in Milan, she specialized at SEAD in Salzburg, collaborating with Lali Ayguad\u00e9, Lachky Company, Sita Ostheimer, Jos Baker, Joy Alpuerto Ritter, and many others. She has worked as a dancer and performer for various choreographers, companies, and festivals across the European scene\u2014including Romeo Castellucci (for the Salzburg Festival and Triennale Milano), Cie Zevada, Mito International Festival, Cie Mess, Gray Box Project, Odin Teatret, Vicky Angelidou, LAC Lugano, Tanecno, Azimuth Ensemble, and Vestland Dance Theater (in a co-production with Carte Blanche), among others. As a creator and choreographer, she currently focuses on her own projects\u2014featuring original music by Alessio Sanna\u2014through productions and collaborations with Botti du Shcoggiu, Anghiari Dance Hub, Krakk Santarcangelo Festival, Komm Tanz\/Passo Nord (Abbondanza Bertoni), Scenario Pubblico, ResExtensa, Carovana, Tersicorea T.off, Trauma Bar und Kino (Berlin), MOV Teatri di Vetro, Augenblick, Fuori Formato, C.u.r.a. Umbria, LaMama Umbria, Circhendi, Marballus, and Teatro Stabile dell\u2019Umbria; she won the Cortoindanza Logos award and debuted at the Spoleto Festival. Her artistic research integrates studies in psycho-pedagogy, folk dance, capoeira, Pilates, video art, theater, cinema, and both electronic and folk music. She is a teacher of contemporary dance and improvisation, an artistic mentor at national professional academies, and an AICP-certified coach.
