Egor Shepachev was born in Chisinau, Moldova, in 1975. In 1986, he entered the state school of music and ballet, graduating in 1993. That same year, he was hired by the Chisinau Opera and Ballet Company and won the role of principal dancer in the ballet Cipollino, becoming a soloist. Until 2010, he worked as principal dancer at the theater, performing the roles of the Prince in The Nutcracker, Basilio in Don Quixote, James in Les Sylphs, the Prince in Sleeping Beauty, Mercutio and Romeo in Romeo and Juliet, the Prince and the Fool in Swan Lake, and Colin in La Fille Mal Gard\u00e9e. In 1997, he worked with choreographer Yuri Gregorovich. In 2008, he received the prestigious award of Emeritus Artist of the Republic of Moldova. He has won several competitions, including first prize at the Constanta International Competition (Romania), and a diploma from the International Dancers and Choreographers Competition in Moscow, with first prize for his choreography. He began teaching in 2004 at the Chisinau State School, and since 2008 has also worked as a rehearsal teacher at the Opera House. He has toured extensively with the Opera House company throughout Europe, and toured China with the Moscow Ballet Company. In 2007, he began collaborating with AUB, appearing as a guest at its grand galas and as a principal dancer on its tours, and has been a permanent teacher since 2010.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
